Most recently access road to the toe of the dam was extended to make maintenance easier. The majority of the work has already been completed, with the exception of finishing a 15,000-SF reverse filter behind the dam. The reverse filter has already been engineered and there is an approved permit in place. The project will consist of "scraping off the vegetation" in the area where the blanket will be located, installation of landscape fabric, 6 inches of sand, 6 inches of #57 stone, and a final layer of railroad ballast and rip rap combined. What is interesting about this land is that the future owners will be free to develop or subdivide it into incredible 80 separate lots! There is a potential subdivision layout that has been approved, as well as filter and siphon drawings. If the weather holds, a dedicated and motivated contractor can probably finish the remaining work in two weeks.

☼ ATTRACTIONS
The property is surrounded by residential homes, and there is a Food Lion shopping center with restaurants and other small shops within 1/2 mile. The school district is considered quite good for the area and the property is located about 25 minutes from the back gate of Fort Bragg military base. Spout Springs is 8 miles away and is the closest "retail area" with medical buildings, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.
