We all love to be outdoors during the summer, but during the winter it’s a bit more challenging. Winter months can be dark, cold, and even boring. Days are shorter and the cold weather can keep us indoors. We get bored easily. But there are some great outdoor winter activities you can try. We need physical activity, fresh air, and sunlight for our health. Also, outdoor winter activities are fun!

Even if you are not enthusiastic about the weather, you can still enjoy nature, exercise, and clean air. We are going to give you some excellent ideas for you to try. You can try them alone, with a friend, your partner, your children. There is always an option for everyone. And also, it is not always necessary to be in the snow to have fun.

If you are still thinking about it, just explore these ideas we give you!

1. Get comfortable with a fire

It may sound silly, but it is a perfect activity to do outdoors. Fires are inspiring, full of energy and we need their warmth and comfort during the cold season. Look for a place suitable to make the fire, there are a lot of tools you can use today to keep it safe.

If you are doing it by yourself, bring a comfortable chair, with a blanket, a hot drink, and a book. And just take that time for yourself. If you are with some friends or your partner, you can think about cooking something in the fire. You can also have some drinks together. If you are with kids, you include some hot dogs, marshmallows, and storytelling beside the fire.

2. Warm up with a hike

Hiking is a sport you can do any time of the year. You only need the right equipment. Winter hiking even has its benefits, as it generally means less crowded trails and no bugs. Get some comfortable shoes and adequate clothing. Keep in mind that you may need different layers, as you may get hot during the hike. Pack your backpack with water, some snacks, and whatever you think could be useful.

Plan a route. If you use a real map instead of your phone, it’s so much more fun! If you are doing it with children, you can give them some activities to complete. You can ask them to look for a specific plant or hear an animal sound. You can make it a scavenger hunt!

3. Visit an open-air museum, a park, or a botanical garden

There are beautiful places we don’t visit during the year. Maybe because it is too hot to be outside during the summer, or we don’t find the time to go. If you don’t know any try to search online for any recommendations near your place. You can get to discover new amazing places that will entertain you while being outdoors. You will forget about the cold!

4. Go for a bike ride

Exercising is great to warm up your body. And bicycles are very winter-friendly. Look for a place not so far from your home, where you can make a picnic after your trip. And just ride!
